The active phase of the project “Emergency care and protection of affected internally displaced persons in Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees in Moldova” has begun.

Dear friends, we would like to inform you that the active phase of the project “Emergency care and protection of affected internally displaced persons in Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees in Moldova” has begun. Since the first weeks of a full-scale invasion STAN cooperates with an international organization Hilfswerk International in this direction. From now on, the work will focus on providing the necessities for shelters for displaced persons and psychosocial support for people who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
In particular, the project provides the arrangement and comprehensive support for the activities of 10 shelters of Ukraine.
Not only comfortable places to sleep will be equipped. Shelters will be provided with food and hygiene products.
However, people living in shelters will not be the only ones to receive help. During the implementation of the project, to IDPs will be distributed:
  •  2000 special hygiene kits for women
  • 3000 sets of general use,
  •  15,000 servings of full course meals
At the same time, the PSS team, that have studied the “do no harm” approach, confidentiality, gender equality in humanitarian actions and social inclusion, will provide the comprehensive assistance to IDPs.
Currently, the team consists of 6 psychologists, 3 Social Workers, 3 teachers and at least 6 volunteers.
They provide psychosocial assistance and information on medical, legal, educational and social services for internally displaced persons. They disseminate information about protection and available social services.
Priority areas of psychosocial support:
  • Psychoemotional support for IDPs
  •  Informing the most vulnerable IDP groups
  • Gender equality and social inclusion
  • Comprehensive support for individuals/families and
  •  complementary work of the PSS team
Integrating people and building sustainable peace in communities.
In addition, individual, couple and family consultations are provided. Psychological group work is carried out.
